Recommendation: Beginners

When I started reading I was in 7th grade, I think and I just randomly picked up a book from the school library and started and I liked it to be very honest. It was a book by Geronimo Stilton, I know right? I continued reading books of Geronimo Stilton and books by Indian Authors.

In my junior year I randomly picked up The Twilight Series and trust me I loved it that time but now that I’ve read enough books I know that was a wrong pick. So for those of you who’ve just started reading and are still trying to develop their interests I’ll mention some great books and series you should read as a beginner.

Here they are:

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I am sure everyone of you must have heard about it or have seen the movies and trust me the books are a hell lot better than the movies. It’s a fantasy series of 7 books and each book has the events of a year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This series literally transports you to the magical world of Hogwarts from where you’ll not want to ever return. It’s personally one of my favourite series.

2. The Fault in our Stars by John Green

This is a contemporary romance book and one of the most read books ever.

In this book, two cancer-afflicted teenagers Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters meet at a cancer support group and their journey from there. This book is about giving hope to those who have none.

You’ll laugh and cry with the characters in this book and they’ll remain with you no matter how many books you read.

3. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

If you are an old soul and you want to start with classics, there’s no better choice.

It’s set in the 19th century Hertfordshire, England. It’s one of the best books ever written. The novel follows the character development of the protagonist Elizabeth Bennett. It shows honest depiction of money and marriage.

You’ll find it a little difficult to read at first but you’ll be okay and if you’re not, you can listen to the audiobook which is available for free at Youtube.
